The Galician R+D+i Plan 2006-2010 incite, into its horizontal programs pursues the improvement of the Galician Innovation System and the encouragement of cooperation between all the agents. The Plan's neuralgic center is constituted by the articulation of the Galician R+D+i system, transversally influencing everyone of its acts and programs. The program looks for an authentic articulation and vertebration of the Galician R+D+i system, creating new technological centers and strengthening the existing ones; the constitution of the Galician strategic sectors technological platforms, as well as the creation of real scientific and technological parks.

The Galician Technological Centers, constituted with a clear particular business sector leadership, are by far the dynamic agents of the technology transfer and first innovation generators. These centers should be responsible of R+D+i impact in the companies and should be governed by economic self-sufficiency criteria generated by clear R+D+i activities. Among their final objectives there is being one of the motors and pulling elements of the research activity in the industrial scope. To achieve these objectives was created the Services Coordination and Technological Centers Unit (Servitex), and has the mission of enable the consolidation, expansion and reinforcement of the existing centers, as well as create conditions for cooperation and complementarity search between centers.

The Galician Technological Centers Network (RETGALIA) expects to be a coordinated working mechanism between all the technological centers operating in Galicia, to make the most of their capacities, contributing to reach the total quality into the Galician Innovation System. It is also expected to favour the development of precise actions to disseminate knowledge, information and science and technology promotion, as well as rendering services to the companies.
